Philomena Njeri Mwaura

is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies and Director of the Center for Gender Equity and Empowerment at Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya  as well as being an adjunct Lecturer at four other universities. As former President of the International Association for Mission Studies (IAMS) and Co-coordinator of the Theology and Women’s Commissions of the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians (EATWOT), Africa Region and global, she is also a member of the Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians and the Ecumenical Symposium of Eastern Africa Theologians (ESEAT).  

She has published extensively in journals on African Christianity and co-authored three books including Challenges and Prospects for the Church in Africa in the 21st Century (Pauline, Nairobi 2005) & Theology in the Context of Globalization: African Women’s Response (EATWOT Nairobi, 2005).
